5 Diseases That Can be Detected Through the Eye
By now, I hope that the general public knows that diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol can be seen in the eye on a routine eye exam. If you do not know that by now, then we as eye care providers are not doing a good enough job educating you. However, I wanted to talk about other bodily diseases that many are not aware can also be found in the eye, and if not treated early, can lead to severe health issues later.
3D Movies: Are They a Boom or Bust?
History
What most people don’t realize is that 3D movies were developed and first shown in Los Angeles, CA in 1922. The movie was The Power of Love” and was in the “red/green anaglyph format that didn’t change until the 40’s with the introduction of Polarized lenses. I can still remember the red/green filters in the fifties and movies like the Creature from the Black Lagoon, House of Wax, and It Came from Outer Space. Continue reading
